Welcome to the DWPT Resource Page.  All of the products on this page are either items which help me run my successful personal training business, or which I use for my own training and exercise needs. 

People ask me for recommendations all the time regarding exercise equipment, protein supplements and workout gear. I have tried and tested every item on this page and would never recommend anything I haven't personally used. The idea of this page is to simply put all those recommendations into one place. Ideally, this will then help make your life that little bit easier when looking for that great new piece of kit. 

I would only ever recommend an online retailer which I know and trust. For me, Amazon is the most reliable (and one of the cheapest) resources I know. Before you get into things, I want to be clear and point out that the links on this page are affiliate links.  If you choose to buy any of these items, I make a small commision.  This is at absolutely no extra cost to you.

It's important to me to be as upfront and transparent as possible.  I am making these recommendations based on my personal experience with these amazing products, not for the small commision they offer if you decide to buy something. Please do not spend your money on anything unless you are certain it will help you achieve your health and fitness goals. 



USN Protein Powder Supplement

I have been using protein supplements for years to help rebuild muscle after training and for a faster recovery.  For me, USN wins hands down.  The taste is the best I have found (I personally prefer the chocolate flavour) and the quality is one of the best out there in terms of the high protein to low sugar ratio. With 53 grams of protein per serving this tub will last you absolutely ages and is great value for money. 

USN Creatine Monohydrate Supplement

Creatine is a fantastic supplement for athletes who need to boost their recovery and assist muscle growth.  Creatine is found naturally in the body and is an important component for energy replenishment.  

Taking extra creatine on board as a training supplement will both boost your gains and improve your recovery and training output. I have personally seen great gains taking creatine over the years and found it gives my training that extra 'edge'.

USN Branch Chain Amino Acid (BCAA) Supplement

Branch Chain Amino Acids are a muscle building supplement which will naturally accelerate your muscle building potential in the gym. They help promote hypertrophy (muscular development) and come in a tablet form which you take after exercise. Foam Roller 

Foam rolling is a fantastic way to reduce muscle tension. Using a foam roll regularly will help promote muscle mobility and to help reduce physical stress, aches and pains.  To learn more about foam rolling, check out my post 'How to Fix Your Sore Office Back'.

I own this foam roller for my own personal use and bought it from Amazon around 5 years ago. Unlike other brands, this has completed retained its shape and is still as firm and reliable today as the day I bought it. 

Trigger Point Massage Balls

Massage balls have a similar use to the foam roll, in that they reduce tension, aches and pains from our muscles. The beauty of the massage ball is that they can target more specific areas (shoulders, glutes, hamstrings for example) and work a little deeper into the body than the foam roll can for increased results. 

Fitness Tech

Fitbit Blaze Smart Fitness Watch

Personally, I thought the idea of owning a fitness tracker would be a bit of a 'fad' until I decided to bite the bullet and give them a go. After doing my research, I decided on the Fitbit Blaze as I liked the visual screen which displays your steps and data on the watch screen itself, instead of just on your phone.  

I am so pleased I made that choice.  The feedback you get from it is amazing, including how well you sleep. The heart rate monitor is accurate and you can control your phone's music from the interactive touch screen. It makes an attractive watch too, which means I wear it all the time and not just for workouts. 

Bluetooth Headphones

I upgraded to these Mpow headphones from the previous version as they kept falling out of my ears.  This new model with the 'over the ear' design are a massive improvement. They stay completely in place, are comfortable and on a half hour charge, I get around 5 hours use from them. The sound quality is great, sweating is never an issue in them and of course, you can use them to take calls while wearing them. If you are looking for wireless headphones for training or recreational use, they are a great product at an amazing price. 

Home Workouts

Braided Exercise Tubes

Having been in the fitness industry for 20 years, these exercise tubes are without a doubt, THE BEST I have ever worked with. The braided styling means they are reinforced and super strong. The build quality of these bands are amazing. They are not the cheapest, but they are the best and will last you forever. I only discovered them recently and they are quite hard to find elsewhere for this pricing.

Stability Exercise Ball (55cm)

I have been using stability balls in classes, with PT clients and as part of my own training for over 20 years now.  These are in my opinion, one of the best value pieces of kit money can buy.  If you have a home gym, one of these are essential, because they do everything.  Stretching, stability exercise, strength work, core training and you can even use them as a bench for working out on. 

I choose AOK as a brand because they are made with a special compound which can take 500kg of pressure.  They are anti burst and never go out of shape or end up soft and squishy like so many other brands.  They are in my opinion, the best money can buy. 

55cm stability balls will be suitable for those people with a height of approximately 5ft 10" or under.  If you are over that height, I would recommend a 65cm ball for best results and comfort. 

Stability Exercise Ball (65cm)

This is exactly the same ball as the 55cm, but slightly bigger which will be better suited for taller individuals or 5ft 10" and above. 


Bosu Stability Trainer

Did you know BOSU is an acronym for Both Sides Up? Bosu's are a fantastic versatile tool which can be used for total body stability, strength, conditioning, core and rehabilitation based purposes. 

I have been using BOSU's with my clients and personally in my own workouts for nearly two decades.  It has become an integral piece of kit at my studio and an essential tool for my own workouts. It is easy to get to grips with and maintenance free. 

TRX Suspension Training Home Kit

Like the Stability balls and BOSU's, the TRX is a simple, but highly effective way of working out. Working on the principle of 'suspension training'. TRX is massively versatile and offers one of the best core workouts I have ever had.

You can train your whole body and need nothing more than a simple door frame, tree or climbing frame to hang your TRX from.  It's a great way to train outside in the park when the weather is nice, easy to transport and will burn fat and tone your muscles all at the same time. The straps are incredibly strong and you can rest assured these are built to last. 

Insanity: The Ultimate Cardio Workout and Fitness DVD Programme

You may find it strange that a personal trainer would recommend another trainer's products, but in this case, that's quite the opposite. I love Shaun T's Insanity workout.  I bought it when it first came out to see what all the fuss was about and loved it immediately.  This is my kind of workout - an 'old school', no fuss, high energy, massively effective workout system that will boost your fitness and muscle tone, and will help you shed unwanted pounds in mere weeks.
